Chapter 15 - A NEW THRONE AND A HAPPY ENDING

One year later.

The sun shone brilliantly over the Manhattan skyline.

From the fifty-thirtieth-floor balcony of Caruso Global Enterprises, the view was breathtaking.

I stood holding a cup of black coffee, wearing a tailored white pantsuit that commanded the entire room without saying a word.

My phone chimed on the mahogany table.

A text message from an unknown number in Brooklyn.

“I started a small construction firm today. First project is a community center on 4th Street. Thought you’d want to know I’m finally building something that lasts.”

I stared at the screen for a long moment.

I didn't reply.

I didn't need to.

Some chapters of our lives cannot be rewritten.

They can only be closed, signed, and left behind.

The door behind me opened softly.

Arthur Sterling stepped onto the balcony.

“Mrs. Caruso, the board is waiting for you in the conference room.”

“Thank you, Arthur,” I smiled, setting my coffee cup down.

“Let’s go show them how to run an empire.”

I walked back inside, my heels clicking rhythmically against the polished marble floor.

I wasn't the woman who stood quietly behind her husband in a ballroom anymore.

I was the woman who had survived the fire, broken the crown, and forged a throne entirely of her own.

And for the first time in my life, I knew I would never need to look back again.

THE END
