Chapter 49 - The Legacy Carved in Stone

The morning sun rose over the estate with a blinding brilliance, casting a golden aura across the limestone towers, the manicured gardens, and the silent, unyielding walls of our sanctuary.

I stood alone on the stone terrace for a few moments before the house stirred, holding a cup of black coffee as I watched the morning mist lift off the distant hills. The world was quiet, orderly, and entirely at peace.

Every document was signed. Every asset was secured. Every debt—literal and figurative—had been paid in full, and every enemy had been neutralized by the sheer gravity of our rise. The empire we had forged out of blood, sweat, and unrelenting intellect was no longer a fragile enterprise; it was a permanent monument in human history.

Elena stepped out onto the terrace behind me, wrapped in a light cashmere shawl, her steps silent and unhurried. She walked up beside me, leaning against the stone balustrade and looking out over the endless expanse of our land.

"What are your plans for today, Mr. Bennett?" she teased lightly, sipping from her own cup of tea.

"No board meetings. No forensic audits. No tactical briefings," I answered with a calm, easy smile. "I thought we might spend the afternoon walking through the lower orchards, check on the vineyard restoration, and perhaps do absolutely nothing of consequence for the rest of the week."

Elena’s face lit up with a brilliant, radiant smile—the kind of smile that made every sacrifice, every scar, and every brutal mile of our journey worth enduring.

"That sounds like the most dangerous plan you've ever proposed," she laughed softly. "We might actually get used to it."

"Get used to it?" I pulled her close against my side, looking out toward the horizon where the sun climbed higher into a completely cloudless sky. "Elena, we are going to live it for the next hundred years."
