Chapter 11 - Lianna Learns the Truth: Tears, Betrayal, and the Heavy Weight of a Stolen Life

The boardroom erupted into chaos.
Board members gasped, turning to one another in bewilderment. The Chief Financial Officer leaned forward, adjusting his spectacles in disbelief.
“This is an outrage!” Arthur Vance shouted, rising to his feet and slamming his palm on the table. “Samuel Prescott was a rogue employee who embezzled company capital and died four years ago! This woman is an opportunist trying to extort this corporation with fraudulent claims!”
“Is this document fraudulent, Arthur?” Corbin’s voice cut through Vance’s shouting like thunder.
With a click of a remote control, the massive digital projection screens on the boardroom wall illuminated.
Displayed in crystal-clear high definition were:
The certified patent registration of the Prescott Structural Damping Grid, dated three months before Samuel’s death, bearing Samuel’s verified signature and federal seal.
The side-by-side forensic analysis showing that Vance’s firm had digitally forged Samuel’s name onto the compromised Harborview Tower foundation blueprints.
The Swiss bank statements tracking forty-two million dollars transferred directly from international licensees into RS Holdings and Vance Asset Management.
The surveillance logs proving Vance had spent four years tracking Lianna and intentionally destroying her employment prospects to force her into destitution.
The board members stared at the screens in stunned silence.
The CFO turned toward Richard Stanford with open horror. “Richard... you altered the steel specs on Harborview Tower? You risked a structural collapse for an eight-million-dollar kickback?”
Richard’s mouth worked wordlessly, his arrogance dissolving into naked panic. “These... these are fabricated digital forgeries! Vance, tell them!”
Vance stood frozen, his eyes darting toward the exits. He knew the game was over. The paper trail was airtight.
Lianna stepped forward toward the center of the table, looking directly into the eyes of the man who had terrorized her for four years.
“Four years ago, you told me Samuel was a criminal,” Lianna said, her voice clear, steady, and resonant with profound moral power. “You told me he left me with nothing. You made me believe I was unworthy to even speak his name. You watched my baby go hungry while you drank vintage wine purchased with Samuel’s blood.”

She pulled the original blue envelope from her jacket and laid it in the center of the table.
“Samuel was twice the man either of you will ever be. And his name will be restored to every building this company ever erects.”
