Chapter 12 - The Grand Charity Gala and the Invitation to an Execution

Ethan walked slowly down the final steps of the grand staircase, stepping onto the stage with the calm, terrifying presence of an emperor reclaiming his throne.

He took the microphone from the paralyzed stand.

The entire room of two hundred and fifty social elites stood in total, pin-drop silence.

Ethan looked down at Vanessa, who was crawling backward on her hands and knees across the stage, weeping hysterically, her designer gown tearing against the stage floorboards.

“You always did throw a magnificent party, Vanessa,” Ethan said, his voice calm, resonant, and dripping with icy contempt.

“Ethan… please… Ethan, my love, they forced me!” Vanessa sobbed, reaching out with manicured hands toward his polished shoes. “Julian threatened me! Sterling blackmailed me! I was trying to save you! Please, Ethan, tell them! Tell them you love me!”

Ethan looked at her not with rage, but with profound, absolute disgust.

“For eighteen days, Vanessa, you fed me synthetic poison in my own home,” Ethan said, his voice carrying clearly to every corner of the ballroom and into the rolling news cameras at the back. “You plotted to steal my company, my patents, and my life. But you made one fatal mistake.”

Ethan turned to the crowd, extending his hand toward Claire and Noah standing proudly at the base of the stage.

“You forgot that true nobility does not live in bloodlines, designer dresses, or bank accounts,” Ethan proclaimed. “It lives in the hearts of those who choose courage over greed, and truth over murder.”
