Chapter 15 - The Dawn of Sophie Moretti (The End)

One year later.

The summer sun reflected brilliantly off the turquoise waters of the French

Riviera.

A gentle Mediterranean breeze rustled the olive trees on the cliffs above

Saint-Tropez.

Hundreds of white roses lined the stone pathway leading down to a cliffside

cathedral.

The international press stood behind velvet ropes outside the gates.

Every major news outlet in the world had sent photographers.

From Disgraced Diplomat's Daughter to New York's Queen.

Sophie Dubois Marries Reformed Billionaire Alessandro Moretti.

Inside the private villa suite, I stood before a full-length antique mirror.

My wedding dress was pure silk, designed in Paris, with lace cascading down a

six-foot train.

Around my neck hung my father’s gold seal ring on a delicate chain.

No more frayed uniform cuffs.

No more superglue on worn shoes.

No more hiding in the shadows of cheap apartments.

A knock sounded at the open French doors.

Alessandro walked in.

He wore an immaculate white tuxedo.

His broad shoulders were straight and strong.

The scars from that terrible night were hidden beneath his tailored clothes, but

the change in his eyes was visible to everyone.

He had walked away from the underworld.

With the evidence from Container Seventeen, he had dismantled the corrupt

syndicates, legalizing all family assets into legitimate international shipping

and hospitality corporations.

The Fox’s Eye was no longer a tool of crime.

It was the foundation of an empire built on justice.

Alessandro stopped behind me, resting his hands gently on my bare shoulders.

His dark eyes met mine in the mirror.

“You’re stunning, Sophie,” he whispered against my ear.

“You’re not supposed to see the bride before the ceremony,” I reminded him,

smiling.

“I make my own rules, wife.”

“I’m not your wife yet.”

Alessandro reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.

He opened it.

Inside sat a custom platinum ring set with a flawless black diamond, encircled

by three delicate curved golden strokes.

The Fox’s Eye.

“You’ve been my wife since the second you read that wine list,” he murmured

softly.

He turned me around in his arms, pulling me flush against his chest.

His gaze was warm, fierce, and completely devoted.

“I spent my entire life surrounded by monsters and liars,” Alessandro said, his

thumb tracing my lower lip.

“I thought power was about how many people feared your name.”

“You taught me that true power is the courage to stand alone in the dark and

tell the truth.”

Tears of pure happiness welled in my eyes.

“You gave me my life back, Alessandro,” I whispered.

“No, Sophie,” he smiled, leaning down until our lips brushed softly together.

“You gave me mine.”

He kissed me under the warm Mediterranean sun.

A kiss that tasted of freedom, peace, and an unshakeable future.

Outside, the cathedral bells began to chime across the blue bay.

The doors opened wide.

Together, hand in hand, we stepped out into the light.
