The aftermath was swift and merciless.

Marcus was escorted out of the country club by security, stripped of his dignity, his fiancee, and his access to the billionaire's empire. By the time he reached the parking lot, his company phone had been remotely wiped, his credit cards were frozen, and his future was entirely incinerated.

He had spent three years building a fortress of lies, only for it to be brought down by a single, tiny locket and the truth he couldn't bury.

Inside the ballroom, the wedding reception transformed into something else entirely. Sylvia, demonstrating a grace and resilience that shocked her own family, ordered the caterers to serve the food and open the champagne. It was no longer a celebration of a union, but a celebration of a narrow escape.

Eleanor sat at the head table, holding Maya in her lap, feeding the little girl strawberries from the wedding cake while Elena sat beside them, finally able to breathe without the crushing weight of survival pressing down on her chest.

And for the first time in three years, the little girl holding the stuffed bunny didn't ask for her daddy. She simply leaned her head against her grandmother's chest, closed her eyes, and knew she was finally home.
