By the time winter turned to spring, the legal system had reached its conclusion. Recognizing the strength of the prosecution's evidence—especially the digital tracking records and Clara’s testimony—Julian’s defense team advised him to accept a plea deal.
The agreement was structured around rehabilitation and public safety rather than punitive incarceration. Julian pled guilty to unlawful restraint, stalking with premeditation, and domestic harassment.
In exchange, the court ordered mandatory, long-term psychiatric confinement in a high-security therapeutic facility. The sentence was indefinite, subject to regular reviews by a state medical board, ensuring he would not be released until he was no longer deemed a danger to others.
Additionally, the judge issued a permanent, lifetime restraining order. Julian was legally forbidden from ever approaching or contacting Audrey, her family, or his own mother, Clara, who had requested to be included in the order for her own protection.
On the final day of court, the judge granted an immediate and absolute annulment of the marriage. The legal bond between Audrey and Julian was erased, as if it had never existed.
