Chapter 15 - The Queen’s True Reign and a Brand New Sunrise

One year later.
The rooftop terrace of Vane Global Tower was bathed in the warm, breathtaking colors of a midsummer sunset.
A private celebration was underway to commemorate the successful completion of our multi-billion-dollar green logistics corridor connecting North America, Europe, and Asia. Two hundred senior executives, international partners, and frontline employee representatives mingled across the landscaped terrace, sipping vintage champagne beneath the open sky.
Arthur Sterling stood beside me near the glass parapet, looking out over the glittering city skyline below.
“I must admit, Elena,” Arthur said, raising his crystal glass with genuine admiration. “When the board recalled you from Zurich last year, we expected a turbulent transition. But what you have accomplished in twelve months is nothing short of a corporate miracle. The Sterling Capital Group has just authorized an additional five hundred million dollars in our sovereign partnership fund.”
I clinked my glass gently against his. “Thank you, Arthur. But this was never a miracle. It was simply the result of removing the parasites and allowing the true talent of this company to breathe.”
Nearby, Marcus Vance was laughing warmly with a group of newly promoted regional directors, the toxic culture of fear and sycophancy that had once poisoned the executive suite completely replaced by mutual respect, innovation, and unwavering integrity.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the clouds in shades of brilliant gold and deep royal purple, Victoria Sterling walked over, holding a sleek black leather folder.
“Chairwoman Vane,” Victoria said softly, a subtle smile playing on her lips. “The final judicial dispositions from the Department of Justice have just been entered into the public record.”
“Give me the summary,” I replied calmly.
“Jang Chin Tong has been sentenced to eighteen years at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury without the possibility of parole for commercial wire fraud, tax evasion, and felony bribery,” Victoria reported. “Her family’s assets have been completely liquidated to fulfill the civil restitution order.”
“And Shiaoza?”
“He reported to the federal correctional camp in Allenwood this morning to begin serving his twelve-year sentence,” Victoria concluded. “His mother, Beatrice, has relocated to a modest assisted-living facility in Ohio, funded solely by her minimal state pension.”
I closed my eyes for a brief, peaceful moment, feeling the gentle evening breeze against my skin.
The ledger was balanced. The debts were paid. The past was finally, completely buried.
I opened my eyes, looking down at my left wrist. Resting against my skin was a simple, elegant sapphire bracelet—a gift I had bought for myself with my first clean international dividend check ten years ago.
No stolen diamonds. No hollow vanity. No toxic illusions.
Just pure, unshakeable strength forged in the fires of betrayal and crowned with absolute victory.
I turned back to the gathered celebration, raising my glass high beneath the emerging stars.
“To the future,” I toasted, my voice ringing clear and triumphant across the rooftop. “To an empire built on truth, loyalty, and the courage to take back what is ours.”
The entire rooftop erupted in a resounding, joyous cheer that echoed high above the city streets.

And as the city lights below sparkled like a million diamonds, the true Queen of the empire smiled, knowing that her reign had only just begun.
