Chapter 14 - The Shattered Dynasty: Maximum Sentences and the Seizure of Vance Manor

Two weeks later, Chief Judge Marcus Alvarez handed down the official federal sentences:

Ross Vance: Sentenced to 45 years in a maximum-security federal penitentiary without the possibility of parole.

Ethan Vance: Sentenced to 35 years in federal prison.

Veronica Vance: Sentenced to 25 years in a federal women’s correctional facility, with a permanent, irrevocable termination of all parental rights.

Arthur Vance: Sentenced to 30 years in federal prison and ordered to pay $42 million in restitution and criminal asset forfeiture.

Hector Miller: Sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for racketeering and civil rights violations.

Harold Lang: Sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, stripped of his law license, and ordered to forfeit all judicial pension benefits.

Under the federal civil asset forfeiture provisions of the RICO statute, the United States Department of Justice seized the entire Vance estate on Timber Ridge Road, the Vance Logistics corporate fleet, and all associated commercial holdings.

Under a special petition filed by Prosecutor Evelyn Chase and approved by the federal court, Arthur Vance’s personal fortune was liquidated and placed into an irrevocable, court-supervised trust:

$15 Million was placed into a protected medical and educational trust fund exclusively for Maya Mercer, ensuring her complete financial security, specialized trauma counseling, and future university education for life.

$10 Million was allocated to establish the Maya Mercer Center for Children's Advocacy and Trauma Recovery in San Jeronimo—a state-of-the-art facility providing free medical, legal, and psychological care to victims of domestic abuse across West Texas.

The remaining Vance estate land was donated to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to create a permanent public nature preserve, ensuring that the ground where the Vance family had once ruled as tyrants would forever belong to the public.

Maria Elena Torres was awarded a $1.2 million whistleblower settlement from the forfeited corporate assets, allowing her to purchase a beautiful, peaceful home near her grandchildren in Austin and live out the rest of her life in comfort and dignity.

The name Vance was completely erased from the municipal charter of San Jeronimo.

The kingdom was gone. Only the truth remained.
