Detective Brooks asked the hospital security officer to escort Ethan, Margaret, and Brandon to separate rooms.
Their protests echoed down the corridor, but the polished unity they had displayed on arrival was gone.
Ethan blamed Brandon for the security footage.
Brandon accused Margaret of putting the agreement in writing.
Margaret told both sons to stop talking.
Within an hour, officers obtained authorization to secure the guest house while investigators sought a search warrant.
Daniel provided the server location and the access credentials needed to preserve the off-site footage.
He also named two household employees who had heard Emily calling for help and had been ordered not to approach the building.
One of them, a housekeeper named Rosa Alvarez, agreed to give a statement that night.
Rosa told police she had seen Ethan take Emily’s phone and had heard Margaret say, “No staff member opens that door unless I give permission.” Rosa had been afraid of losing her job, but when Emily was taken away pale and shaking, fear became shame.
“I should have opened it,” she said through tears.
Emily did not blame her.
“You are opening it now,” she replied.
The search of the estate began shortly after midnight.
Officers found Emily’s phone inside a locked desk in Ethan’s study.
Her packed suitcase had been emptied and returned to the bedroom.
The guest house door showed fresh damage near the interior handle.
Most damaging of all, the surveillance server contained clear video of Ethan forcing Emily through the doorway while Margaret watched and Brandon carried away her bag.
A second clip showed Brandon entering the security room and demanding that Daniel delete the footage.
The Prescotts’ attorneys arrived before sunrise.
They argued that Emily had been moved to the guest house for her own safety and that the family had acted during a domestic emergency.
The recordings, access records, medical documentation, and witness statements made that explanation difficult to sustain.
Ethan was arrested on suspicion of unlawful restraint and assault.
Brandon was investigated for evidence tampering and his role in preventing Emily from leaving.
Margaret faced allegations connected to coercion, witness intimidation, and the false statement she had tried to obtain in the hospital.
Their influence did not disappear.
Calls were made.
Friendly commentators described the incident as a painful family misunderstanding.
An unnamed source tried to circulate claims that Emily was emotionally unstable.
Victoria and Emily’s attorney responded only once.
He released a brief statement saying Emily had requested privacy while cooperating with investigators.
He did not attack the family, reveal medical details, or argue the case through reporters.
That restraint mattered.
When Margaret’s allies tried to turn the story into a battle of reputations, investigators continued presenting evidence.
The audio was authenticated.
The surveillance footage was verified.
Digital records showed attempts to access and alter the security system.
The hospital documented the pressure placed on Emily before her examination was complete.
At the emergency protective-order hearing, Ethan arrived in an expensive dark suit with three attorneys.
Emily entered with Victoria and sat at the opposite table.
